Resin Driveway Colours and Finishes

Choosing stone is the part most people enjoy. It is also easier than it looks once you know what to weigh up.

Buff & gold blend

Warm and light. Sits well against red brick and lifts a shaded frontage.

Silver grey

Neutral and even. A safe match for grey render, slate roofs and modern doors.

Mixed autumn

Browns and golds together. Forgiving with leaf fall and general dirt.

Dark flint

Deep charcoal tones. Smart, though it shows dust and dried mud more readily.

Oyster

Pale and clean-looking. Brightest option, but marks show up soonest.

Steel & silver

Cool greys with a slight blue cast. Suits newer estate housing.

Swatches give an idea of tone only. Stone looks different wet, in shade and at scale, so ask for samples.

Lighter or darker?

Lighter blends open up a shaded frontage and suit properties with dark brickwork or a north-facing front. They also show tyre marks, oil and general grime soonest, so they need a wash more often.

Darker blends look smart against pale render and modern doors, but they show dust, dried mud and salt residue through winter. Mid-tone greys and mixed golds tend to be the most forgiving day to day.

Matching the house

Red brick is common across a lot of Worcester housing, and warm buffs and golds usually sit more comfortably against it than cool greys. Grey render, slate roofs and grey window frames on newer estate homes pull the other way. Take a sample outside and look at it against the wall in daylight before you decide.

Borders and contrasting edges

  • A block or brick border gives a traditional edge and helps a new drive relate to an older house
  • A contrasting resin border in a darker blend frames the drive without adding jointing
  • Aluminium edging is discreet and keeps a crisp line against lawns and beds
  • Inset strips can mark parking bays or the line of a path

Practical points worth remembering

  • Leaf fall stains pale stone more than dark stone
  • Trees overhead mean more debris and more sweeping, whatever the colour
  • A drive under a north-facing wall stays damp longer, so moss shows sooner
  • Coarser aggregate gives more grip on a sloping drive

Once you have a colour in mind, the practical side is covered on our maintenance page, and pricing on the cost page.
