Resin Driveway Cost in Worcester
An honest look at what drives resin driveway prices up and down, and why the base beneath your drive matters more than anything else.
Why there is no single price
Resin driveway prices are often quoted as a rate per square metre. It is a useful shorthand, but on its own it tells you very little, because two drives of identical size can differ enormously in the work needed underneath.
A 40m² drive laid over sound concrete is a straightforward resurfacing job. The same 40m² with a failed base, standing water and an old brick edge means excavation, disposal, a new sub-base, drainage and edging — a different job entirely.
The easiest way to price a resin driveway properly is to assess the existing surface and measure the area.
What affects the price
Area sets the material and labour baseline. Awkward shapes, curved borders and narrow strips take longer per metre than a simple rectangle.
Resurfacing versus rebuilding
- Resurfacing — the existing concrete or tarmac is sound, clean and draining acceptably. Least disruption, lowest cost.
- Partial repair — sections are dug out and made good, the rest is retained. Priced by how much comes up.
- Full rebuild — everything is removed, a new sub-base is laid and drainage designed in. Highest cost, longest life where the old base has failed.
Costs people forget to allow for
- Skips or grab lorries where spoil has to leave a narrow street
- Lowering a kerb or altering the entrance
- New edging where old kerbs are broken or sitting proud
- Reinstating a path, step or gate to suit the new levels
What a quote from us looks like
We measure the area, note the existing surface and its condition, look at where water goes, and set out what is included — preparation, drainage, edging, aggregate and labour — so you can compare it fairly against anyone else’s. If we think resurfacing will do, we will say so rather than sell you a rebuild.
Before deciding, it is worth reading how the work is actually carried out on our installation page, and comparing options on resin vs other driveways.
